Behind Quora Strings are two internationally recognized musicians whose stories are as impressive as their sound.
Alina Zhuk, a graduate of the Ukrainian National Tchaikovsky Academy of Music, began her performance career at the age of 13 and went on to tour Europe with professional orchestras. Her passion took her aboard luxury cruise ships, where she performed as part of elite string ensembles across the globe. Today, Alina calls Calgary home, where she combines classical violin with handpan and sound therapy, offering meditative sound baths and healing experiences alongside her performances.
Geison Hidalgo, originally from Venezuela, was trained in the world-famous music education program “El Sistema.” He performed with the internationally acclaimed Teresa Carreño Youth Orchestra, taking the stage in venues like the Berlin Philharmonie, Wiener Philharmoniker, and the Salzburg Festival. With a background in both violin performance and conducting, Geison’s natural charisma and rhythm also extend to his talents as a salsa dancer—a combination that makes him a standout violin entertainer.
